FPS Flight Shooter
So if you have ever played Descent (1-3) the idea is basically the same as that.
I want to design a FPS where each player uses their ship to kill/murder/maim/obliterate the enemy. It will be a mostly cavern based game to provide it with some stratagy. Anyway, I have taken no classes on programming and am entirly self taught. With that being said I am looking for someone willing assist with the project. I have little experience with this engine and 3D games in general, however, I have done hours of work in DarkBasic and GM7 and understand the basics of programming.
As I said, I'm looking for a partner/tutor who understands the language and is interested in working on this project. I do not plan on selling the game, but releasing it like "Bloody Masacre", so others can learn from it.
The game will go something like this:
Single Player: I don't really have a plan for this. I have been planning on a LAN/Online game but if a Campaign or something comes up then it may be implemented.
Multiplayer: Multiplayer will be the normal FPS style except that you can move freely on all 3 axis. This allows for a few different options. Some ideas are as follows.
Murder Ball: Think Soccer... with guns. The point of this mode is simple, score more points then your opponent. You must move a levitating ball around an arena and into the enemies goal to score. This can be done by ramming the ball or shooting it. This would be played by two, three, or four teams.
Deathmatch: A classic kill or be killed arena match.
Tug of War: The classic game of Tug of War. A symmetrical map with floating orbs. You must control a majority of these when the time runs out. To gain control of an orb you must fly through it.
