I noticed some DDS files will not convert so I end up using Gimp and make a PNG which will work.

Try using smooth function with speed and size at minimum and soft at max. Not guaranteed to work but that was what I did with a mosaic. You have to run down the seam.

I agree with Tottel. I use L3DT and making insanely large worlds is not an issue. I have a basic terrain right now that spans 32K pixels square.

I just bought a 2.9 quad AMD Athlon II and it was a bad CPU. It would post on one RAM stick but hang on two. Try just one RAM stick. If it posts then the internal memory controller is bad.
