A couple of questions
Hi

I'm just having a quick look at Esenthel, so Just a couple of questions (before I dive in)
and a request for a couple of examples (if possible).

(1) Is it fairly easy to bring in custom shaders, HLSL & fx? We work a lot with ShaderFX (for max)
for fast shader prototyping.

(2) Any chance of putting together an example of pathfinding in action?

cheers smile

Re: A couple of questions
Hello, welcome to the forums smile

1. For speed performances at the moment only built-in shaders are supported.
Would you like some yet un-implemented effects to be added to the engine?

2. Pathfinding will be soon, I'm working on a building editor right now, so when it's done I'll show some buildings with working pathfinding smile
Stay tuned! smile

RE Custom Shaders - okay, thanks. I'll get back to you on some ideas ( built-in effects) that might be cool to add smile

Sounds good (the editor) I'll keep an eye open for an announcement ;-)

Cheers

Re: A couple of questions
Hello again smile

Any news on a path finding demo? I was thinking of maybe taking advantage of your Christmas offer.

If the editor you mentioned is not finished yet, is there any chance of maybe showing a demo of working path finding done in code? I assume that is was done this way (in code ) for your own game?

thanks.

Re: A couple of questions
Hello,

The pathfinding demo has been added a long time ago, please check tutorial "game basics/pathfinding" in EsenthelEngineSDK, also a more simplified algorithm of pathfinding can be found in "misc/pathfind" tutorial

The building editor isn't yet ready, because I've started working on some other stuff in the engine smile

Let me know if you have more questions

Re: A couple of questions
OK here are my thoughts...

You have put together some good examples since I last checked out the engine, so well done with that. There is also a lot of nice stuff that has been added to the engine smile

The only thing that is putting me off from going with it for a new project I am starting after the new years is the licensing. Yes, the price is fair. But the 'per product' is what is putting me off.

Right now, it's a toss up between Esenthel or the C4 engine.

I wouldn't mind if the license price was more, but a similar license to what we worked out for our last product with the developer of Power Render 6, meaning unlimited products.

As said, I am not complaining about the price, It's just that the 'per product' is what is putting me off.

Re: A couple of questions
Hi,

Thanks for the comment, I'm working very hard on the engine smile

No, sorry, I don't provide "unlimited products" license, in my opinion if you provide such a license, you don't value your engine, I value my engine very much smile

Re: A couple of questions
I can understand that, after all of the work that you have done to your engine smile

Any problems with me getting a multi product license at the Christmas offer price?
that would allow two separate games created with the engine to be sold?

cheers
