I am very interested in the Esenthel engine, particularly due to its lighting and shadows.

I have a question concerning the engine.pak file... what is in this file? I've tried to open it with various archiving utilities with no results.

At 42 MB, its a rather large file - and I wonder if it is needed by all applications.

Re: engine.pak

Thank you for your interest in Esenthel Engine,

PAK is engines native archive format, it can be viewed with Pak Viewer Tool available in the Esenthel Engine SDK.

The biggest part inside the engine.pak file are the shaders.

Altough if you wish not to use Single Pass Renderer you can remove the files:
engine.pak\shader\Shader 2SP.shdr - 15 MB
engine.pak\shader\Shader 3SP.shdr - 18 MB

The default Renderer is Multi Pass Renderer so when using the default version, these shaders aren't used.
