3DS Max Animated Morph Deformations
I've got an animated morph deformation (aka animated morphs) in 3DS Max, e.g. realistic facial expression exported with the settings from the documentation with OpenCollada (DAE), when imported into ME it results in a complete lack of geometry but the skeleton and bone animations are imported properly. I don't know if this is a problem with OpenCollada or with ME.

maybe it's because of morphing used, morph targets arent supported, only skeletal animation, facial animation can be achieved by using bone animations as well.

That would explain it... Will there every be support for morph targets in ME? I know that OpenCollada supports morph targets.

RE: 3DS Max Animated Morph Deformations
by morph target you mean a separate version of mesh (vertexes+faces) for each expression?
this is not an efficient way for 3d games.

Yes thats what I mean. It does result in fairly large files and would probably mean larger vram usage. I guess I'll have to do it the conventional way.

But much higher quality, than with those stupid bones. I would be very happy if esenthel supported morfer.

RE: 3DS Max Animated Morph Deformations
You see, efficiency is the most important part. A full body morph results in a phenomenally large DAE file, in my case 500mb+. But what would be extremely useful is to use morph targets for mouth models for either a animated sentences or just animations of specific letter sounds. Such a technique would result in professional level speech animations, the quality of which depending on the software that you use. For example a 10 second sentence of one of my models mouths is a reasonable 20ish mb.
