[MMO] Port forwarding problems?
Hi,

I'm trying to run the MMO server, but having some problems.
I can connect if I use an address of 10.0.0.100 also if I connect via 127.0.0.1. But if I connect via a global IP address, it is unable to connect.

My local machine has no firewall, and I have set up port forwarding. I have also checked that port forwarding for other applications works correctly.

I have also been using http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ to test whether the port is open. It always reports port 65535 as closed.

Any ideas?

RE: [MMO] Port forwarding problems?
Then you have not set up port forwarding correctly or the port is being shared.

Changing the port doesn't seem to have helped.

I'm fairly sure that port forwarding has been set up correctly. I've set it up in the same way as for other applications.

Try: http://www.utorrent.com/testport?port=65535

Also: Some routers have automatic port forwarding activations, e.g. -> Router keeps a port closed unless it gets a request to be used and then opens it.

So e.g. set it to your torrenting port which you know is open and see if that works [which it should].

<cough><splutter>
Finally!

It turns out that my cable modem was blocking services that aren't explicitly specified or set up via UPnP. My other servers open the port via UPnP, but of course, Esenthel doesn't.

Now that I've opened the port on my modem as well as the router, it seems to work.
