Re: Chaplain's game questions
You could, but mostly ppl use particle systems to create these "portals".

Like, Vortex or something.

Sys: Intel Quad @3.4 Ghz, ATI HD 5770 OC Ed (pri), NVIDIA 8800 Ultra (PhysX), 4 Gig Ram, 3.8 TB total HDD.

Re: Chaplain's game questions
Percise object placement.

I am really running into serious problems with percise object placement in the World Editor. I am curently creating a dungeon and need to place objects on a shelf in the wall. I align them using the grid, but when I go to raise them to the shelf the objects snaps about 6 inches at a time. I have tried everything I can think of but cannot get it to sit on the shelf.

What am I missing as far as percise object placement?

Thank you,
Chaplain

Re: Chaplain's game questions
you can select non-FPP mode, and zoom in your camera to the maximum (mouse wheel)
the more zoom the slower objects will move at mouse movement

Re: Chaplain's game questions
How do I go into non-FFP mode? I have heard the term before but can't seem to control when I go there.

Thanks again for answering all my questions. When I finish my terrain I plan to make a series of tutorials documenting what I learn. So I have a tendency to be very careful and exacting.

Re: Chaplain's game questions
It is not working. I get the same distence with the mousewheel before and after pressing the TAB key. Do I have have to be in any certain mode (tried it in OBJ mode and Heightmap mode)? Or does the view have to be Camera Diagonal or Camera Top or anything?

Thanks!

Re: Chaplain's game questions
when pushing TAB key you should notice "FPP" on the screen, select the mode where it isnt' visible
then moving objects should be dependent on the camera distance

Re: Chaplain's game questions
maybe your using an older version
please launch the "autoupdate" tool
then in the world editor you should see menu "view\camera mode"

Re: Chaplain's game questions
That seems to be the problem. There is no view/ camera mode in my World Editor. It also explains why some of what I try from other posts doesn't seem to work for me.
