Editor and server versions Editor 64.exe Editor DX10+.exe
Hi Roy asker of stupid questions here:

So I have in my EsenthelEngineSDK / Tools folder

Editor.exe
Editor 64.exe
Editor DX10+.exe

Do all these versions of the editor make exactly the same stuff?
or does the Editor 64.exe make 64bit stuff?
and the Editor DX10+.exe make directX 10 stuff?

I also have
Data Server.exe
Data Server DX10+.exe

I'm confused?

If you don't want to explain to a simpleton like me you could just tell me what to use

My dev machine is running windows7 ultimate 64bit my server is running winXP
and some of my players may not have dx10 machines.

It not an urgent question... its just in the back of my mind

Roy

RE: Editor and server versions Editor 64.exe Editor DX10+.exe
I *think* it's so it runs on your PC, be it 32/64 bit.
And whether it has older direct (XP, like me smile ) or newer direct x (10+).
So, yes it does the same thing.

So on your win7 64, you'll use the Editor 64.exe (I *think* it's also DX10+) and your server will run Data Server.exe because it's 32 XP (I *think*)

You'll need to build a 32bit (directX 9) for older machines and 32bit DX10+
and 64bit DX10+ builds for your visa/win7/8 players.

I'm really glad esenthel support winXP!!! it's old but it's faassst!lol

Thanks gwald, I think I'll just do 32bit DX9 for now more player have that version. but I will use the Editor 64.exe because it probably utilises more memory.
