Benchmark Tool - Nature scene
Hi there!

Initially, this started out as a showcase for the Manufactura K4 models in the Esenthel engine. I was curious to see how well our beloved engine could handle dense vegetation.
After some messing around, I decided to turn it into a benchmarking tool. We are now at the 6th release. Feel free to try it out! smile

Features:
- Kind of beautiful open world with 2 different environments.
- Interior scene.
- Benchmark and Free-Roam mode
- Statistics linked to your account that you can view afterwards from the main menu.
- Ability to upload and compare stats with others, straight from the menu (server currently not running.. I'm poor).
- A couple of different graphics and resolution settings so you can get the best quality your pc can handle.

Here is the download link (x64)

Let me know if there is need for a x86 (32 bit) version!

And here are some screenshots:

RE: Manufactura K4 - Nature scene
Updated first post with some more images:
- New environment!
- Pictures were taken from a camera moving along a path, WIP for the benchmark tool. smile

The framerate is low at the start, because I take the pictures right after the world loaded.
I get a constant stable 40 FPS. All of the bushes are set as static objects, so there really are quite a few objects being rendered at the same time.

This PC has:
- CPU: i7-3770 @3.4 GHz
- RAM: 16 GB
- GPU: GTX 650 TI

wowowowo First 2 images are absolutely amazing!
Though we have to do something (..PBS) about the flat ambient color in the 3rd pic one where there is no direct light hitting the vegetation. I also wonder how much the performance would have been affected with instancing...

RE: Manufactura K4 - Nature scene
Thanks guys!

I agree that the shading is very dull and flat underneath all the trees. I would have liked to have some sunrays and bits of light seep through all the vegetation, but it's not happening. :(
In any case, I'm happy that it's dark. Pine forests are always very dark and feel very closed and silent. I think that even with the dull lighting, it's capturing this feeling pretty well.

Physically based rendering would be quite awesome, but that would also require a remake of the textures in the pack. pfft

That first scene looks amazing and captures that early morning feel. I also like the fog in the later scenes as it adds a lot to the atmosphere. I agree, pine forests are usually pretty dark internally with direct sunlight only getting down to ground level in clearings.

RE: Manufactura K4 - Nature scene
For your enjoyment, I've published the project so it can be run by anyone!
Please note: This is a 64 bit build!

What's new:
- Polished up the main menu. Options menu still needs: Resolution, full screen setting. (Now in: Full screen, native resolution)
- Added object clouds to Misty Morning environment.
- Added some more nature to the scene.

The game will run with Medium Graphics settings by default. See if your PC can handle High. It's a real performance killer. pfft
The FPS in the game will be slightly higher than on the main menu. It can use some optimizing. smile

RE: Manufactura K4 - Nature scene
Hey, this indeed is among the best looking exterior scenes i've seen in the engine, the texture work on the ground and the shore is amazing... well done.

Only issue i found is while trying to run benchmark on low i get this, medium works ok.

RE: Manufactura K4 - Nature scene
Hey georgatos!

Thank you! It's all because of the Manufactura pack, of course. smile

Actually, that error is not because of the graphic settings. The problem is that I get it once every 200 times that I run the application. And never when I am debugging. :(
