Features to start project
Hello,
Long time ago I tested Esenthel, but considered do not use, because my project requires a lot of render text to textures, runtime materials/shaders creation. Also mobile rendering level was a problem (very limited). Was something changed since 2014 ?
Hope to stick to Esenthel...

Hello,
I recommend using built-in text rendering functions, it's very powerful, and flexible, supports auto-scaling, or can be setup for per-pixel drawing if you need to.
At the moment you need to use Source Code License to play around with custom shader creation (it's not easy at the moment).
I don't know what you mean by mobile rendering is limited exactly, but yes, OpenGL ES used on mobiles platforms does not allow for all features.
