3D DnD(tabletop) inspired ARPG.


Hey guys !

Here to present our game, Forsaken Champions, a DnD inspired ARPG.

This game will take you through the same settings of the DnD:
Create your party with friends, and one of you guys will lead the adventure (Adventure master), his role will be to interact with the party, manage encounter with enemies and friendly NPC, and really just tell a story.

To ensure full control to the Adventure Master (AM) and players, we wanted to have a pretty deep campaign & map creation but not only that, we wanted as well to make sure the RP part of the character and the party can be maintained and developed thru-out the adventures, by adding Character level(Adventure based), Character biography, a unique class system, and more !

What if there is no AM ? if none of your friend knows how/want to tell a story ?
To overcome this, we have made it Party Leader friendly, meaning you will be playing with the rest of the party while maintaining a few control, and the quest manager/monster will take over and fill that role.

Creating a well thought-out campaign can take quite a while, we have made the Never-Ending-Campaign system :
A campaign can always be modified, debugged, and keep evolving without the need to restart your adventure.

What for all that work that goes into a one time campaign ?
Have no worry, we are planning to have a campaign marketplace/sharing center (TBD).

Lets talk about the ARPG part of the game, how does that work ?
Lets start by talking about the pace of the game, we wanted to leave it very free to the player, you can slow down the pace to a crawl, you can pause the game, or you can play it full speed. this is to leave room to both RP players, and ARPG players.
Our game was never meant to be a competitive game, it is up to the player to enjoy and play at the pace that works the best for them !

What about the combat system ?
That's where the ARPG stood out for us, we wanted the combat to be dynamic and avoid turnbased mechanism that would break the pace of the adventure.
We came out with our 2levels replenishment system. One short term(energy) and one long term(action point).
From there we simplified and streamlined it to be fun, engaging, yet not complicated. you do not need a rule book to understand what you can do.
Lastly we wanted teamplay to be key and that every classes shine with their specialty making combo really fun to play with !
For that we created 5 base classes to mix with themself giving the total of 25 masterclasses, all different from their base spells ( 4primary 4 secondary class based ) to their 2 unique abilities !

The campaign creation, you will be able to create your own personalized adventure, each square is up to 1km square of map you can edit as you wish and there is no limit to the number of square ! And good news ! Its network friendly so you can build it with friends!

I thought it was time for a little update, since i have covered most of the UI and i am very pleased with the result.

i have updated the screenshot in the first post !

i have changed the project name, to reflect a bit more the concept of the game

About little over a month since the last update, thought it was time for a new one !

-finally settled on a name for the game.
-updated picture, with more refined UI ( gather from feedback )

Working on Game play at the moment.

Hi there !
Very overdue update of the game !

Completed a lot of things since last update :
- char creation polishing including weapons
- NPC polishing including monster book
- lots of gameplay improvement and polishing
- lots of sounds sfx and music
- polishing of editor including addition of weather/environment system
- UI improvement
- lots more random improvement

Cant wait to share it to you all in Alpha !

Next step :
- complete some of the 3D, char/weapons/props
- improve the collection of material asset

I can see a lot of work is going into the underlying foundations of this game, it seems very well thought out which gives it all the more chance of succeeding. It's great to see development on this level and watch the progress. Keep the updates coming.

Hello there !
As usual, a quick update on the game progress !

- Improved campaign editor with tons of additions.
- Improved map changes to use waypoint.
- Glitch/bug improvement.
- Online server set-up.

And the first dev client went out, a few people got to test the game !

Was definitely a good thing to get feedback early, we are always thriving to make it the best game possible !

will be reporting again end of September with another build smile

Goal : Improvement to gameplay !

Its me again for another update ! ( screenshot in first post )

-Improvement to the Adventure master abilities
-Dynamic Weather Change
-Stats manipulation thru "AM Spells"
-Teleportation of players
-Can now show cursor placement to the party members
-In game SHARED Music Player, you can now play the music/ambiance that you want (from our limited pool of music atm) and this will replicate to play as well for your party !
-Save/Load of dynamic map, this is used for monster/weather & will be used for other things like quest/objects
-Improvement to the adventure picking phase, to include character playing/stored

Next goals:
-Handling of quest
-Improvement to NPC including AI
-Improvement to fight gameplay

Hello there !

Been working hard to improve:

- Lots of polishing to the Editor, Campaign and in game.
- New UI.
- Full support for translation to other languages ( atm only English / French available )
- New main screen
- Gameplay balancing
- Glitch killing
- Steam store ( not released yet )
- Quest support

We are working on a beta release soon, early Q1 2021 is our target.
- NPC full dialogue
- Polishing of gameplay
- Water support

I love the graphical updates to the UI, looking very nice! Very forward thinking too with built in support for other languages.
