RE: Benchmark Tool - Nature scene
Hello everyone!

I've submitted another build (we're at version 5 now!).
The most notable changes:

v5
- Added User Accounts.
- Added feedback right after benchmarks ends.
- You can view stats for all previously run benchmarks, locally and globally (global disabled for now).
- Your resolution and graphics preferences are saved and loaded.
- Added another kind of loading (visually), it randomly selects one after starting. I plan on adding one completely different kind of loading for each release.
- Improved graphics quality for low and medium.
- Added skybox texture (By Heiko Irrgang from http://www.93i.de).
- Increased performance dramatically for High and Ultra (disabled tessellation on terrain and improved tessellation distance on objects).
- Changed world loading type from STREAM to FULL to avoid background-loading stutters during play.
- Fixed not being able to run the benchmark more than once.
- Tweaked main menu GUI a bit.
- Reduced packaged size + memory usage.
- Added normal maps to rocks.

Global statistics (comparing with other people) are disabled for now, sorry for that! I need a server to test (and maintain) this, and I don't have that yet.. It will come in the near future though. smile

Here is the download (x64)
Let me know if there is any need for a 32 bit version!

Enjoy!

I'm unable to unpack this download file without errors and the executable appears corrupted. Have tried downloading twice now. Is any one else experiencing issues?

Pixel Perfect: I packed it with 7zip (The absolute best compressing tool). What did you use to unpack?

Shouldn't matter unless there is something wrong with his installation, I used winrar to unpack as I always do as winrar supports more formats.

Looks like it's something at my end then. I used WinRAR to unpack, never had an issue with it before. It is a very old version though.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I'll try something else

[EDIT] Downloaded 7z tool and extracted it without issue.

Great scenes Tottel! In Ultra quality I got around 10-15 FPS with my current video card. Curious to see the difference when I receive my new card! smile

RE: Benchmark Tool - Nature scene
Hey, those are my stats.
Core 2 Quad Q6600, ATI 7800 Series
Sunset
Low 22-48
Medium 18-31
Ultra 16-29

Indeed it's a very beautiful benchmark and among the best sceneries i've seen on the engine.
One thing that i noticed is that in free roam there is a slight camera-character jittering and a slight offset in the two positions. This is getting amplified when the character moves faster for example after a jump bounce.
You might wanna check if you are updating/changing the character position after you place the camera at the head bone.

My god, you guys have beefy PCs ( looking at you Roland grin ). Seems like I will have to add a new "Overkill" graphic option for you. grin

Thanks a lot for testing and the nice feedback!

@Georgatos: I will check into the camera issue, thanks!

RE: Benchmark Tool - Nature scene
Very impressive, and useful!

My PC stats:
--------------
Intel Pentium 2 Core 2.7GHz
Nvidia GTS 450
4GB RAM, 2GB Graphic Mem
Windows 7
Sunset
Resolution 1366x768
Low 20-42 Avg 30
Medium 12-42 Avg 24
High 8-42 Avg 21
Ultra 4-42 Avg 18

My Laptop stats:
-------------------
Intel i5 4200A 2.8GHz
Nvidia GTX 950M
8GB RAM, 4GB Graphic Mem
Windows 10
Sunset
Resolution 1366x768
Low 33-72 Avg 51
Medium 20-72 Avg 42
High 13-72 Avg 36
Ultra 8-72 Avg 31

Not sure why maximums remain fixed ?
I wonder what impact vertex displacement of the water surface would make on the performance?
